Counseling & Mental Health
Atlas Psychology offers evidence-based counseling services that are an invitation to explore challenging yet vital places of growth in the service of what is most important to you in your life.
Our approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and liberatory in that we view suffering as rooted in systemic oppression and psychological health as driven by personal and communal empowerment.
Our mental health counseling does not just focus on symptom reduction, but rather aspires to honor what makes each day worth living according to your beliefs, interests, values, and enriching relationships.
What is Counseling & Mental Health?

As generalists, we have education, training, and professional experience working with people of many ages across the neurodiversity spectrum. Our age specialties include adolescents (13-17), early adults (18-25ish), and early-to-middle aged adults (25-50s).
Our neurodiverse specialties include individuals who identify as Autistic or have been diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum.

At our core, we are inspired by feminist and multicultural approaches to healing that seek to interrupt and interrogate how systems of oppression impact our clients.
Our trauma-informed, evidence-based methods are rooted within the context of our client's identities, personal and cultural values, and life circumstances.
These evidence-based methods include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion.

Counseling can have many facets to it. If you prefer to meet with one of our counselors individually, as part of a group, or with a friend or family member, let us know and we will work with you so that you feel comfortable.
If you prefer to have your meetings with us through virtual means (i.e., videoconferencing software), we are happy to accommodate you there, too.
If we meet, and you don't feel there is a great fit between us, we will work to get you connected to local people who may be a better fit for you. Let's make this process as stress-free and meaningful for you as we can.
